Présentation générale

L'académie de Rouen a lancé ces débats académiques. Les débats sont organisés sur des sujets de société dans toutes les langues. http://www.ac-rouen.fr/espaces-pedagogiques/ouverture-internationale/les-debats-citoyens--48857.kjsp?RH=DEBA-CIT

Intérêt

"Quelle plus-value pour l'enseignement des langues ?


Les débats citoyens permettent de démontrer l'aptitude à utiliser des compétences qui ne sont pas mobilisées en situation de classe. Ils créent une motivation suscitée par le désir de convaincre, par la compétitivité et par l'émulation: ce sont autant de leviers qui poussent à prendre la parole.

L'envie de se faire comprendre, l'envie de trouver les mots pour le dire ( ex: utilisation des remplisseurs du discours [gap-fillers], accentuation, intonation...) y sont stimulées.

De plus, la situation authentique de communication (interactivité) génère un regain d'intérêt pour la langue cible grâce à des configurations de classe et de travail différentes.

Enfin, ces débats sont l'occasion de revisiter le statut de l'erreur qui n'est plus inhibante.

Outre l'usage de la langue, un débat citoyen conduit à l'apprentissage et à la valorisation de l'écoute de l'autre: il est nécessaire de prendre en compte la parole du camarade. Le débat contribue ainsi à la promotion de la tolérance.

Naturellement, se met en place le recours au « non-verbal » (gestuelle, mimiques..) qui participe à toute communication authentique.

Et il amène nécessairement à l'apprentissage de la construction d'un argumentaire cohérent et abouti. "
